Alberta Mounties always get their … beaver

A rural Alberta business recently called the RCMP to help with one particularly busy trespasser: a beaver.

Hanna RCMP said the business contacted police April 8 to report a trespasser refusing to leave at closing time.

“The subject was describe as disoriented, wearing all brown, and was approximately two feet tall and weighing approximately 40 pounds,” police revealed in a social media post on Saturday.

A local Mountie used “de-escalation techniques” on the beaver. That involved some coaxing to usher the beaver out of the business.

“It is possible the subject may have been attempting to steal the business’ firewood in the entrance-way to use for home-building,” police joked, adding, “Although this motive has not been confirmed at this time.”

“He is not considered armed or dangerous, although his tail was pretty big,” police said.

Beavers also have some pretty sharp teeth.
